Today, I am collaborating with Saumya from the blog “Myriad Musings“ on her series called “Trend Trotting Thursday” #TTT #Trendtt. On today’s edition we show you ways of wearing one of summer’s most coveted and flirty print- FLORALS! We have curated two different looks, one casual and the other formal, of embracing this dainty trend. We’ve also put together a few do’s and don’ts of wearing this trend that are sure to address your fashion woes. I wore this floral Maxi dress to a daytime summer wedding. As soon as I saw this dress I knew that I could pull it off for more than a formal party. I usually avoid huge prints, but the sexy cut of the dress merited the try. I surely had to tone it down with nude and gold accessories, a clear clutch and nude sexy heels. I wore my hair on a side braid to get a more relaxed summer look. Meanwhile, Saumya wore this casual yet put together floral outfit. She had fun pairing the floral top with shades of purple and pink, creating an outstanding color–blocking–floral look. En esta edición te mostramos la manera de llevar una de las tendencias más codiciadas y coquetas del verano: Los estampados florales! Hemos creado dos atuendos diferentes, uno informal y otro formal para acoger esta tendencia. Me puse este vestido largo de estampado floral para una boda de verano durante el día. Tan pronto como vi este vestido supe que podía usarlo para más de una ocasión. Normalmente evito los estampados grandes, pero el corte sexy del vestido merecía una oportunidad. Tuve que bajar el tono al atuendo con simples accesorios en tonos dorados, una cartera transparente estilo “clutch” y tacones altos color “nude”. También llevaba el pelo en una trenza de lado para obtener un look veraniego más relajado. Mientras tanto, Saumya lució este traje informal pero bien puesto a la vez. Ella se divirtió combinando una blusa floral con matices de púrpura y rosa, logrando un atuendo floral bastante colorido y divertido. > A large floral print can add volume to your figure. If you opt to wear a large floral pattern, look for a dress that has a flattering cut; because it helps with balancing out your silhouette, and adds “sassiness” to your look.
> Don’t go overboard with the colors aka stick to a monochromatic or a dichromatic ( at the max ) palette. With too many colors you might end up looking like a garden.
> Don’t have more than one focal point. If you are wearing separates, then choose one floral print ( either at the top or at the bottom ) as the focal point and then work the rest of your outfit around this focal point.
> Don’t get intimidated. If you think this trend is too girly for your taste, follow the way of minimalism. Add a floral bag (like this one) or a floral footwear (like these), even adding a floral head piece (like this) would do the trick.
