Keeping a healthy lifestyle is part of my daily routine.  For me, bouncing back into a fitness habit after slipping up is the most challenging part, so I have learnt some tips on how to motivate myself to workout at least three times a week, and maintain my healthy eating habits.  Once I get back on track, I start feeling more positive, confident and goal-focused; it’s amazing how a healthy-living can help to detox inside out.

Tips to get back on track with a fitness regime and healthy mood:

1. Put it in your calendar.  Planning is the key to successful results.  Scheduling your workout; make time for at least 15-mins running or a gym/yoga class will avoid skipping and procrastinating your fitness goals.

2. Plan meals in advance.  Cooking at home and planning meals in advance will help you to avoid cheating or skipping a meal.

3. Update your music library.  Music can make you run a little further and feel better about it afterwards.

5. Drink a lot of water to stay hydrated.  Hydration and bodybuilding go together like needle and thread.  You need to drink lots of water if you want to build muscle and lose fat as fast as possible.

6. Pre-workout snacks.  Eat a light, healthy snack before a scheduled workout so that you don’t feel hungry afterwards.

7. Get at least 8-hours of sleep.  Lack of sleep will derail your training program faster than anything.

8. Stretch before and after a workout.  Remember that stretching is just as important as your workout.  Stretch in order to to decrease the risk of injuries.

9. Avoid weighing yourself too often.  If you weigh yourself too often you may be discouraged easily.

10. Cheat on your diet once in a while.  Going off your diet once in a while stimulates the thyroid gland and can wake up your metabolism.  It’s a good idea to line up that cheat meal on a weekend or social occasion.
