My pregnancy experiences + Nordstrom Giveaway

Hi there! It’s been a long time since I shared my last post. Being a mom has definitely absorbed all my energies and time. I hope to be back to this platform more often. Today, I’m sharing my experience with both pregnancies, my postpartum recovery, and the struggles with my weight.

My first pregnancy was totally different than this one. Before getting pregnant, I had more time to fully take care of myself. I was working out regularly and eating better. Then, during pregnancy, I was very active as a full-time student (even though I barely had the time to workout) and due to the excessive pregnancy sickness I experienced, I gained weight only until I hit my second trimester. My postpartum recovery took longer, because with a C-section I couldn’t perform any physical activity other than walking for the first months of postpartum. While I breastfeed I could lose and maintain the weight, but I feel that as soon as I stopped breastfeeding Catalina at nine months old, I started gaining weight easily and barely made the time to workout.

This pregnancy, I started showing up on my first trimester and I gained weight faster than in my first pregnancy. I try not to be so hard with myself because less than two years ago I became a mom for the first time, and I have been completely dedicated to my baby and enjoying every minute of motherhood. Working out and making the time to eat right took a second place in my life.

While it normally takes about two years for a woman to fully recover from pregnancy. Every women has her timing. So, I try not to be obsessed with my weight and body. I please myself and baby with those pregnancy cravings without feeling guilty; because, from my experience, I will lose the weight with breastfeeding and the sleep deprivation with a newborn. In addition to that, the postpartum quarantine with a healthy diet helps a lot to recover. I will talk about this in a different post.

This pregnancy is different but the joy is the same. I want to soak in every moment and enjoy my toddler at the same time. I plan to have some help this time when my second baby arrives, the help is necessary for a faster recovery especially with a C-section. Making the time for self-care is very important to avoid postpartum depression. I believe it’s possible if we are willing to help ourselves ❤️
